Chimu Adventures, the Latin America and Antarctica specialists, has reported a sharp increase in Antarctica enquiries due to the amazing Frozen Planet documentary series which have been shown on the BBC this year. The 7 part nature series, narrated by David Attenborough, focused on wildlife and scenery in both the Antarctic and the Arctic. More specifically it documented the challenges facing polar bears and arctic wolves in the north and adelie penguins and wandering albatrosses in the south. UK office manager, Gemma Anderson, says the amazing images seen on the programme has generated a great deal of interest in Antarctica with enquiries streaming in:
"We have seen a definite increase in Antarctica enquiries and bookings over the last two months which directly relates to the Frozen Plant documentary series shown on the BBC. The stunning scenery and wildlife seen on the programme are certainly accessible with the many Antarctic expeditions we offer and many of our passengers have told us that this was their prime motivator for wanting to cruise to the Great White Continent."
Chimu Adventures offers several expedition cruises to Antarctica including 11 day classic itineraries to 20 day in-depth trips including South Georgia and the Falkland Islands. Last minute specials for the 2011/12 season as well as early-bird specials for next season are available. To find out more, visit www.chimuadventure.com today.
