Beijing Capital International Airport
Beijing Capital International Airport
About this favourite
Beijing Capital International Airport is the main airport serving Beijing, the capital city of the People's Republic of China. The airport has quickly become one of the busiest airports in the world, and currently ranks second in terms of number of annual passengers, behind only Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
The most notable element of the airport is perhaps its third terminal. Designed by UK architect Foster and Partners this terminal is 17% larger than all five of London Heathrow's terminals combined and was the largest airport terminal building in the world until it was surpassed by the third terminal of Dubai International Airport in 2008.
