Blackpool is gearing up to celebrate its 100th Illuminations from 31 August- 4 November with music, festivities and 10km of spectacular lights display. Those wanting to be a part of the celebrations and witness the momentous switch on can stay at the iconic Blackpool Imperial Hotel, from where the Illuminations can be seen. A two night break including breakfast costs from £280 from 31 August- 2 September and rates for two night bed and breakfast stays throughout the Illuminations start from £146, just £36.50 per person per night.
The big switch on on 31 August will see performances from Little Mix, Lemar, Amy MacDonald and Paloma Faith at the Tower Festival Headland and tickets are still available to apply for on www.visitblackpool.com/switchon. Throughout the 66 days of illuminations visitors will be able to enjoy over a million lights which will make up more than 500 scenic designs and features.
The Imperial Hotel is part of new British hotel group Puma Hotel’s Collection and is ideally located on the North Promenade, with the Illuminations running straight past the hotel. The hotel is also in walking distance of the town’s main attractions including Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Blackpool Tower and the Grand Theatre.
