It may look a bit muddy at the moment but the countdown is on for the new Circuit of the Americas Grand Prix scheduled for November 2012.  Work will be starting immediately, following a contractual hiccup onsite, with hundreds of workers on standby to build the grandstands and lay the track near Austin, Texas.  The final plans show a 3.4mile (5.5km) circuit with 20 turns and 2 long straights following the contours of the land and with deliberately widened corners to allow for the drivers to take multiple lines through them.  

With the initial payment in the hands of the Formula 1 chief, Bernie Ecclestone, it's all systems go for the first Grand Prix on American soil in 5 years.
