Colonial Coro
Colonial Coro
About this favourite
In 1527 one of the first cities in Venezuela was founded. Today the town is a colonial jewel in the Venezuelen countryside with many historical buildings and monuments that make for a real sightseeing tour. Many museums also grace the landscape of the city with the Diocesan Museum and Contemporary Art Museum being just two of the highlights.
The charm of Colonial Coro is the colourful contrast of the houses that line each street. Deep indigo homes are stood next to burgundy walls with ochre yellow shops scattering the cobbled pavements.
Peaceful strolls along the enchanting promenades are the best way to see the area as the towering trees provide shelter from the Caribbean heat.
