Facebook has revealed its latest plans to become an indispensible service that we cannot do without. Alongside the existing features, Timeline is being rolled out to allow users to record, with pictures and video, the important things in their lives - so baby pictures, first day at school, graduation, wedding day get the idea?
Mark Zuckerberg at his press conference also explained that while the first 5 years of Facebook has been devoted to building up the community, the future is allowing the community to do things - watch films, read books rather than just to communicate with each other. Facebook is to be THE entertainment hub.
Clearly this has captured the collective imagination as 500 million users, that's one in 14 people on Earth, logged on to try it out! That's not yet possible as the new design is being rolled out over the next few weeks but in a matter of hours the web was alive with workarounds to access the new features.
