New Designers 2012 will take place in two parts from 27 June - 30 June and 04 - 07 July 2012, presenting the next generation of designers to the industry, public and media. Come and see the most exciting and truly original work this year.
The cream of the crop of this year's design graduates unveil their remarkable talent at the New Designers show at the BDC. The exciting presentation is a two part event introducing the very latest ideas and emerging trends across a host of design disciplines. Part 1 displays contemporary applied art - ceramics and glass, jewellery and metal work alongside directional textiles, fashions and home accessories.
One Year On features 50 exceptional designers and makers who have established their own business in the past year. Selected for their fresh voices and new direction they are the ones to watch and as such, this section continues to attract the attention of buyers, curators and of course the design conscious public.
The Jewellery & Metal Design course at Duncan of Jordanstone aims to provide an intellectual and creative stimulus which encourages debate concerning aspects of perception and aesthetics; to create an awareness of the social and historical context of jewellery and metal design; to encourage innovation and excellence.
