Panama City Nightlife
About this favourite

The nightlife in Panama City is arguably the city’s biggest draw. People experience a night out in Panama City and wonder why they ever went dancing elsewhere. Three sectors of the city are known for their liveliness and as Panamanians love to party you’ll be struggling with what one to go to first.

A wide selection of bars, discos, pubs and casinos line the streets in The Business District, Casco Viejo and Amador Causeway and all are as good as the other.

Calle Uruguay, in the business district of Panama City, has a small concentration of clubs that keep the area swinging until the early hours of the morning. Clubs in Panama don’t get lively until midnight so by the time the sun’s up, so are the dancers. Pure is known as one of the best club nights around with DJs always playing the newest beats. On your way home pop into a great little bar called Kitaros. With its late opening hours and a relaxed atmosphere it’s a perfect place to kick back and reminisce after a long night.

The rest of the Business District is a diverse mix of wine bars and pubs. The Wine Bar has a fantastic selection of more than 300 wines, as well as cheeses, pizza and live music. For the best views of the city have a drink in Sparkles Bar at the Miramar Intercontinental before heading to the Martini Bar at the Radisson Decapolis Hotel. Both views are spectacular and will provide a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy your cocktails.

The nightlife in Casco Viejo is intriguing. The area has cobbled stone streets and charming buildings that don’t look safe enough to be standing, let along housing throngs of drinkers and dancers. Relic is a real treat as it’s inside a vault attached to the historic city wall; it’s definitely worth a visit. Indigo’s electronic/house music vibrates through its Moroccan themed decor and is a hotspot for locals and tourists alike on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

The third and final area, Amador Causeway, has a mixture of karaoke clubs on Zona Viva to a stunning bar on the yacht marina called Kayuko that is the perfect place to enjoy the sunset with a few beers.

So as you can see you wont be short of drinking holes in Panama City. Casinos are scattered throughout the centre and are also a great way to enjoy a cocktail or two, just don’t lose all your money while you’re at it.
