This annual exhibition showcases work by established artists alongside new contemporary portrait painters selected from open submission. Work on show is diverse in medium but with a strong focus on drawing and character, promoting excellence in the field and offering several high profile prizes. The exhibition is also a perfect opportunity to research commissioning a portrait. This year’s show includes a special mini-exhibition to commemorate HM The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee featuring a new painting of HRH Prince Philip commissioned by the Regiment of the Queen's Royal Hussars. The portrait by Jemma Phipps depicts the Prince wearing the uniform of the regiment's Colonel in Chief.
The exhibition at the Mall Galleries will run from 3-18 May from 10am-5pm (7pm on Thursdays)
