The biggest celebration of Shakespeare ever staged - The World Shakespeare Festival - is currently taking place across the UK and highlights of this tribute to the world's playwright include a wealth of productions, events and exhibitions, which are also forming part of the London 2012 Festival.
For those who'd like to take in a performance of a Shakespeare play - at either the Royal Shakespeare Theatre or the Globe Theatre - HF Holidays is featuring its selection of theatre and literary short breaks associated with this great writer.
A Shakespeare Tale, for example, includes tickets for two productions, talks and discussions on the plays - both before and after the performance - a talk on Shakespeare's life in Stratford-upon-Avon and a visit to Stratford to provide a deeper understanding of his life.
The three-night break starting 20 June has tickets for Julius Caesar at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and Richard III at the Swan Theatre whilst production schedules have yet to be released for the three-night break starting 05 September. The cost is £399 inclusive of accommodation at HF Holidays' Harrington Country House at Bourton-on-the-Water.
Or Around the Globe includes a performance of a Shakespeare play in the authentic setting of the Globe Theatre as well as at least one other play at a regional theatre such as Chichester or Brighton, plus informal discussions about the plays (programme tba).
With accommodation at the company's Abingworth Hall Country House in the South Downs, the three-night break starting 01 August costs £399 whilst four nights starting 15 October are £499.
The above prices are per person, twin-share, inclusive of full board, theatre tickets, transport to and from the venues and talks/discussions with a knowledgeable leader.
