Budapest’s Sziget Festival (www.sziget.hu), one of the largest music festivals in the world and probably the best party-filled week in Hungary has just announced that Snoop Dogg will join the impressive line-up this year.
Other recent announcements include one of Britain’s most popular party acts of the 1990s, Leftfield who recently re-formed, French DJ and musician, SebastiAn and Canadian punk band, Sum 41.
Other well-known acts performing include The Killers, The Stone Roses, Placebo, Saint Etienne, Caro Emerald, The Pogues, Paolo Nutini, The Vaccines, Lange and The Ting Tings – covering music from all genres including dance, metal, electro and punk.
This annual festival has been running since 1993 and takes place on Óbudai Island in the middle of the Danube in Budapest attracting around 40,000 each year. There are several stages and tents offering a wide variety of music from rock and pop, to dance and world-music, including a Metal Day.
