Mt Everest- Chomo Lungama (“mother goddess of the world”) Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla to experience the Everest trail on the main commercial route; a desolate baron yak path, to the market town of Namche Bazar and trek beyond to Base Camp.
The Tibetan Trail - This spectacular country can be entered from two sides, Nepal and China, the main form of transport is by local bus however if entering from China, there is a recently built railway taking you from Quinghai China, to Lhasa Tibet. The journey into the high Himalayas from Kathmandu to the Chinese border, although ramshackle only takes half a day. From the Nepalese border post of Kodari, travelers must either walk the 10km or take a truck across “no mans land” towards the Chinese border of Khasa or Zhagmu in Chinese, the most important entry points for visitors to Tibet. Take in the undulating barren plateaus, breathtaking views and uneven dramatic paths that catapult you higher gasping over the Lublungla Pass, through to the glorious horizon where sits Everest.
