Divorce Hotels
Leafy, liberal Amsterdam is the home of a new idea - the Divorce Hotel. Couples in The Netherlands usually have to spend a fortune and take months, if not years, to complete the separation formalities, so an enterprising business man, Jim Halfens, has come up with the idea of a weekend of negotiation in a city centre hotel to put the final touches to all the elements of the divorce. All matters are thrashed out by the end of the couple's stay using a mediator and team of lawyers. Alimony and visitation rights are set up and agreed and then the details are sent to a judge to be ratified for them to be legal in a couple of weeks.
