Sony has announced that they have brought in new and superior security to protect the PlayStation network that was shut down in late April after hackers breached it's security exposing the names, addresses and potential credit card details of millions of it's users.

Starting in the US, then on to Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East, the network will be systematically restored over the next few days.  Sony has apologised for the breach and the inconvenience that has been caused.
