Dick Bruna at the Rijksmuseum
Well-known graphic designer, illustrator and children’s author, Dick Bruna, is to have a large collection of his work shown at Netherlands’ national museum, the Rijksmuseum. Many of his advertising posters, book cover designs and illustrations are to be included. He is perhaps most famous for creating Miffy, the cartoon rabbit character soon to be made into a feature length film. Bruna’s works are simple, striking and touching and span a range of media, including paint, ink, pencil and collage. Visitors to the exhibition will be able to learn about the design process behind Bruna’s work, while children will be able to try their hand at creating their own works in drop-in workshops. The show is open until 29th August.
