Sultan's Birthday
One of the biggest social events in the Brunei calendar takes place on 15 July to celebrate the Sultan's birthday. This is the one day of the year that the Istana Nural Iman (Sultan's Palace) is open to the public. The Sultan addresses the guests and a formal investiture of honours follows.
