It has been announced that Cape Verde is to receive funding from  Britain to construct a wind farm to supply electricity to the islands.  The project will involve 40 wind turbines which will generate 40 megawatts of electricity.   The island's population is very poor and, in order to improve job security and living standards, Cape Verde wants to increase tourism facilities to the islands but cannot do so without improving its power infrastructure.
