Colorado wildfires continue to rage
Wildfires in Colorado are still raging as the high summer temperatures and tinder dry ground provide perfect conditions. So far more than 32000 people have had to flee to safety with 346 homes having been destroyed. Casualty figures are not yet clear but it is known that there have been fatalities.
The city of Colorado Springs has been the worst affected but tourism chiefs are anxious to clarify that most of the state is unaffected. Colorado is the 8th biggest state in the Union and covers an area larger than Portugal.
