Dress code to be introduced in UAE
A modest dress code is to be introduced in the United Arab Emirates sources in Abu Dhabi have announced. Revealing outfits are already frowned upon and not considered appropriate in the largely Muslim Emirates. Although this is not expected to affect swimwear actually on the beach or by the pool, it will mean that shorts and skimpy tops, sandals and minis will no longer be acceptable in the street and shopping malls. It is likely that rules will be put in place so that legs and shoulders will have to be covered in public places. Fierce air conditioning is already a deterrent in many shops as it is so cold that people need to cover up and pashmina type wraps are recommended.
