Flash floods in Ireland sweep away policeman

Despite severe weather warnings, flash floods caused devastation in Ireland as more than one month's rainfall fell in one day.  In Co Wicklow a flash flood swept away a policeman and, despite searching through the night, he has yet to be found. Four rivers overflowed through Dublin trapping commuters and halting public transport.  The shopping centre at Dundrum filled with water creating an indoor lake and causing millions of Euros of damage to stock.
