Jet Blue captain overpowered by passengers
A Jet Blue captain had to be restrained following a medical situation on board that led to the pilot running through the cabin screaming that there was a bomb on the aircraft. A co-pilot and off duty pilots brought the plane down safely in an emergency landing at Amarillo in Texas. Meanwhile passengers on board overpowered and restrained the captain until police and medical officers could take him away for treatment.
The 135 passengers on board the flight from New York to Las Vegas witnessed the bizarre rantings of the pilot and several were able to assist with the detention of the captain until they were safely on the ground. An enquiry into the incident is now underway.
