Malta leads the latest trend for owling - groups of youngsters or individuals in unusual locations crouching perfectly still while gazing into the distance and then posting their pictures on the internet.  This has overtaken the previous craze for planking - lying face down in unusual places, which had tragic consequences for at least one young man who fell to his death from a hotel balcony rail.  Dario Genovese, an enthusiastic owler, has created one of Facebook's first dedicated owling pages confirming that Malta is one of the leaders in this strange new trend!
