Rangers FC face bankruptcy
Rangers FC have taken the first steps towards applying for Administration as their debts continue to pile up and HM Revenue and Customs pursues them for a £50million tax demand. The Scottish Premiership champions have 10 days in which to make a final decision about their future. The disputed tax bill involves the employee benefit trusts ,complicated offshore accounts, used to pay players and officials. If they do take the Administration route, their position in the Premiership will be affected by the loss of 10 points, the likely loss of their number 1 position and the subsequent loss of future revenues from lucrative Champions League football.
