Treasure trove at Indian Hindu temple
Untold treasure has been re-discovered at a 16th century temple, Sree Padmanabhaswamy, in Trivandrum in the southern state of Kerala. The hoard of gold, silver, diamonds and emeralds dates back hundreds of years to when rich local maharajahs hid their wealth in the temple's underground vaults for safety. In total there are 6 vaults and so far only 3 have been opened to reveal the unexpected haul valued at billions of pounds. It is believed that the vaults were last opened around 1872 and the treasure seems to have slipped from the collective memory and over time completely been forgotten.
