Haka
About this inspiration
The Haka is a traditional dance performed by the Maori of New Zealand. It is performed by a group, with vigorous movements and stamping of the feet with rhythmically shouted accompaniment. Although the use of Haka by the All Blacks rugby union team has made the Haka familiar, it is not only a battle or war dance. There are various types of Haka performed by women, or by mixed groups, or by children too as a welcome to honoured guests, or to acknowledge great achievements or ceremonial occasions. One thing they have in common is that they are always stirring and inspiring.
