Built to commemorate the courage and spirit of the Algerian soldiers who fought for the freedom and independence of their country, the Monument of Martyrs can be seen from all over the city. The structure is made up of 3 huge, impressive palm fronds and protects the eternal flame which is constantly guarded by military troops.
