Bollywood movies have spread Indian music and dance to every corner of the globe, while the Indian diaspora has taken the many regional cuisines, with their exotic and subtle flavours, to every continent. The civilisations which ruled the subcontinent through the millennia have left their mark in the form of architectural wonders. The Holy City of Varanasi has gorgeously decorated Hindu temples. The princely rulers raised the spectacular palaces of Rajasthan. The Mughals left the iconic Taj Mahal, while the British Raj contributed the grandeur of New Delhi.
